Good Drinks, Good Eats

I am by no stretech of the imagination a food critic. I'm not into fine wine, fancy liquor or high class beer. But I do like to eat, and I do like to drink so that puts me in somewhat of a position to recommend places to people who hold these simliar interests.

Thanks to a friend of mine who is in the food industry, lately I have been exposed to some new restaurants and bars that have gotten me out of my normal routine.

First of all, I'm using my newfound love of del.icio.us to remember where I've been for those nights where I just can't figure out where to go. (Feel free to check out my "bars" and "restaurants" tags.)

Second of all, here are two places I've been recently that I'd recommend. The Post City Guide will give you a much better synopsis than I could.

Temperance Hall - If you're not afraid to visit a neighborhood "in transition" and spotty service doesn't scare you off, grab a beer here when you get a chance. 20s atmosphere & signature house-made cocktail nuts.

Birreria Paradiso - Tucked away in the basement of Pizzeria Paradiso in Georgetown, enjoy good beer and good pizza. Always a great combo.
