"Is it so bad if it gets warmer?"

On the subject of global warming, someone in Congress actually said this.

Ok, so it's taken a bit out of context but I am still quite appalled that anyone could even closely align themselves with this line of thinking.

I understand any change in our environmental policy could negatively affect the US economy (which is troubling because China & India refuse to take action as well) but how can you so blindly choose the economy over our environment?
